The Labor Council is demanding protections for students, workers, and community members during this emergency from the University of Chicago administration! We know that crises lay bare the inadequacies of our existing institutions while at the same time demanding more of us as workers on the front lines. As we continue to adapt to the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot allow crisis measures to become normalized into new forms of exploitation. As such, we are making demands around our immediate workplace, University housing, protections for students, and long-term institutional governance.
