Public schools are the bedrock of our democracy and where 90% of all U.S. students are educated.
Public Schools Week is a national celebration to highlight the great things happening in our nation’s public schools as well as bring attention to the critical issues facing our schools, students and educators.
Here’s how you can get involved in Public Schools Week:
- Join AFT President Randi Weingarten and other education, business and civic leaders, along with thousands of public education supporters, and take the Public Schools Week Pledge now!
- Use this week as an opportunity to showcase members who are doing amazing things in our public schools.
- Share examples of how as a union we care, fight, show up and vote to ensure that we are investing in our public schools to fund our future.
