Enviva, the world’s largest wood pellet manufacturer, is taking aim yet again at North Carolina’s forests and communities. This time, Enviva is applying to increase production in Sampson County, North Carolina, a community hit hard by flooding from Hurricane Florence.

Enviva’s proposed expansion will mean more logging, more pollution, and more carbon emissions. We must take a stand against dirty biomass.

North Carolina Governor Cooper has claimed to be a champion for the climate - last year, he signed Executive Order No. 80 -- making a climate promise to reduce NC’s greenhouse gas emissions by 40%. But so far, Governor Cooper has turned a blind eye to the wood pellet industry.  Does that sound like climate leadership to you?

Concerned residents from Sampson County and from across the state are organizing to oppose Enviva’s expansion. We need to send a strong message to Governor Cooper and NC DEQ that North Carolinians won’t stand for any expansion of this harmful industry.

There will be a public hearing in Clinton, NC on Monday, July 15 at 6:30pm. Can you attend the public hearing to Stop Enviva and support the community?
