Rep. Steve King is what’s wrong with America
“White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”
Rep. King said that back in January of 2019, right before his Republican colleagues stripped him of his committee assignments (but not his Congressional salary).
In fact, if you look at Steve King’s remarks over the years―both the words that have come out of his mouth, and the viewpoints that he retweets[1]―you can draw a pretty clear line to both the white nationalist manifestos left behind by mass shooters, and to Donald Trump.
I think we should make a pretty clear statement: If you’ve retweeted multiple neo-Nazis, you don’t get a seat in Congress.
My friend JD Scholten ran against Steve King in 2018, and came within 2,500 votes from beating him. Now, JD’s ready for a re-match.
Just about anybody would be worth supporting against Steve King. But JD is not just anybody―he’s running on the kind of values the people of Iowa’s 4th district can be proud of. He’s running on Medicare for All, expanding Social Security, and fixing an economy that’s rigged by Steve King and his corporate bosses.
JD didn’t get much support from DC in 2018. The fact that he came so close is a testament to his organizing and his message.
Making a big splash in his first week will help JD get the DCCC’s attention, and help him get the resources he needs to win. Chip in to send a message!
