Not sure what to make of this, but at the very least it suggests this administration is dreadfully averse to impeachment proceedings.
The White House is preparing to release to Congress by the end of the week both the whistleblower complaint and the Inspector General report that are at the center of House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, according to a senior administration official, reversing its position after withholding the documents from lawmakers.
This may be a feint, or it may be the real thing. With these people it’s usually not worth the mental effort involved in trying to divine their intentions. It’s probably worth noting that the common thread running through all their actions is most often “incompetence.” But, we should also assume they have some serious, real lawyers now advising them, for a change.
The administration official stressed the decision and timing could change over the next few days, but as of Tuesday evening the White House was planning to hand over the documents to lawmakers on Capitol Hill. The president has agreed to this move, the official added
Apparently they feel it’s more to their benefit to disclose the Complaint rather than sit on it. Which also may explain why the second most corrupt public official in the country, Mitch McConnell, seems to be on board with the process, so far.
