HGSU-UAW Priority Ranking
The Harvard administration has moved little since we entered mediation. While we got substantive improvements in the fall, they have decided to hide behind the Trump controlled NLRB, rather than offer improvements, and have begun to regress on some of the proposals on the table. Their actions are going tofor us to act if we are going to have to fight more to win more substantive. As part of our work in preparing to fight more, it's important to take a moment to get a perspective about what we are fighting for

Issue Ranking
Please rank your most and least important issues. The following are the major issues that are still unresolved in contract negotiations:

• Protections against Harassment and Discrimination (including a neutral, third party grievance procedure for discrimination and harassment )
• Compensation (contract proposals that include a fair wage, regular wage increases, and protections from pay cuts or from cutting financial aid in response to higher pay)
• Health care for non-PhD student workers (financial support to offset the costs of Student Health Insurance Plan and Student Health Fee)
• Improvements to healthcare coverage (access to mental health resources, adequate specialist visits)
• Paid Family and Medical Leave
• Dental care
• Dependent healthcare (provisions that offset the cost of healthcare for partners and dependents)
• PhD Upper-Year Student Worker Support (guaranteed health care and facility fee waivers for upper G years)
• Union Access and Security (Ensuring that Our proposal will prevent that practice. Also guarantees right of union reps to access labs, and provides support for the cost of administering health care and child care pools)

Note: child care subsidies and workload protections are still unresolved, but the parties are relatively close to reaching an agreement.
