Walmart is the largest private employer in the world and the Walton family is the richest family in America – meanwhile their employees in stores are struggling to get by and make ends meet.
Our movement began in 2011 when more than a hundred Walmart employees came together in front of their headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas to share our experiences and build a vision for change.
Our demand was simple: We work hard and we deserve respect and a share of the wealth we help create.
Now, a new film shows our history. “Dear Walmart” is an independent documentary that tells the intimate and behind-the-headlines stories of our members. Watch how we’ve pushed back against disrespect, workplace hazards, and poverty wages. You’ll see footage of in-store organizing and actions, Black Friday strikes, small group meetings, community outreach, and national gatherings.
