NATICK, MA — A Natick elected official arrested and charged following the 2021 U.S. Capitol riot most likely won't be on the ballot in 2022 due to a move to a North Shore town, according to public records.

According voting records provided to Patch by the Natick Town clerk, Precinct 3 Town Meeting member Sue Ianni has changed her registration to an address in Saugus. The Saugus Town Clerk verified the address change happened on Dec. 29. Ianni and her husband still own a home along Fiske Street in Natick, according to property records.

Neither Ianni nor her attorney, Henry Fasoldt, immediately returned requests for comment about the possible change of address.

Ianni and members of the group Super Happy Fun America (SHFA) rented several buses to transport local residents to the Jan. 6 "Stop the Steal" rally in Washington organized by now-former President Donald Trump. She and SHFA vice president Mark Sahady were photographed later that day inside the U.S. Capitol along with hundreds of others.

The FBI arrested them last January. Ianni was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds — both misdemeanors. She pleaded not guilty to those charges in July. Her next court hearing is set for Feb. 2.

After Ianni's arrest, local residents sought her removal as an elected Town Meeting member. Citing state law, town officials said Ianni could remain in the seat unless she was found guilty and sentenced to prison — or if voters chose not to re-elect her.

About 180 Natick Town Meeting seats will be on the March 29 ballot along with town-wide offices such as moderator, Select Board and School Committee.
