Virginia Constitutional Conservatives

2021 Restore Virginia Now Candidate Survey.

I am sure that before August ends, you will be swamped with pithy campaign emails, mailers and public statements by candidates for the 2021 State Election Cycle.

And with the slick 30 second statements and vague promises, these mostly leave you wondering just what these politicians stand for.

This is exactly why we sent out our 2021 Restore Virginia Now Candidate Survey.

Virginia is rooted in liberty.

It was the home of Founding Fathers George Washington, our first president and commander in chief; Thomas Jefferson, our third president and the author of the Declaration of Independence; and James Madison, our fourth president and the author of the United States Constitution.

The commonwealth is also the birthplace of Patrick Henry, who in 1775 cried, “Give me liberty or give me death,” and then on October 19, 1781, at Yorktown, Virginia we secured our liberty and independence from an oppressive government.

But now that liberty is under attack.

The “Richmond Radicals,” led by Governor “Radical Ralph” Northam, have trampled our rights, raised our taxes, and endangered our freedom. Virginia requires modern-day patriots to step up for liberty and to join a new revolution. We have witnessed what the socialists, and gun grabbers will do when given the reins of power. We must rip them from power and rebuild a foundation for liberty that will make us freer and more prosperous than before.

Therefore, we asked hard, specific questions on our survey such as-

  • Will you repeal Unconstitutional Red Flag Gun Confiscation?

  • Will you fight to end Unconstitutional Governor Mandates?

  • Will you champion Constitutional Carry?

  • Will you restore educational choice to parents?

The good news is that many of those seeking your vote answered that they would stand for Freedom, the 2nd Amendment and fight to restore Virginia.

However, the bad news is that many have so far refused to answer our survey, hiding their views from the voters, hoping to slide by without going on record on real issues.

If you are tired of watching weak conservatives and far left radicals work to destroy Virginia, then click here to read the results of our 2021 Restore Virginia Now Candidate Survey.

The Virginia Constitutional Conservatives seeks legislative champions to Restore Virginia Now. And we are not simply talking about “Republicans.” We want candidates dedicated to repealing every single piece of unconstitutional legislation passed in the 2020 and 2021 state legislative sessions.

Big government is the natural enemy of liberty, and as such government must be heavily restricted. This was how the Founding Fathers built our Republic, and this is exactly how we must restore it.

Politics as usual will not Restore Virginia Now. We need real champions to fight and win in Richmond.  You could lead the charge in the General Assembly.

The pressure to ‘drift’ towards the middle will be great, and the temptations will be many, but only principled and steadfast candidates will complete the 2021 Restore Virginia Now Survey (linked to survey, not results)

Cutting through the hubris that is typical of politicians, we here at the Virginia Constitutional Conservatives refuse to let candidates hide their views from the voters, and so should you.

For if a candidate is too chicken to take a stand on hard issues before they are elected, just how do you think they will vote after they are elected?

Here are the questions we asked on the 2021 Restore Virginia Now Survey and if you scroll down, you will be able to see which candidates had the guts and the principle to go on record and pledged to fight to Restore Virginia…and which ones did not.

2021 State Candidate RVN Survey

Please answer the following by selecting YES or NO, and, if applicable, WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION

1a- The right to self-defense is one of man’s most basic natural rights. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution codifies that the natural right of citizens to keep and bear arms "shall not be infringed." Fourteen (now twenty) states currently allow law-abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons without a permit; these are called “Constitutional Carry” states. These states allow citizens to protect themselves and their families from criminals by not restricting the citizens’ right to self-defense.

Will you vote to enact a "Constitutional Carry" bill, which allows law-abiding citizens to carry in any manner, open or concealed, without government permission, permits, licenses, or fees? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

1b -Owners of the most popular rifle in America are being threatened by politicians and anti-gun activists, who would turn good citizens into felons for exercising their constitutionally protected rights.

Will you vote to defeat, or repeal, any new legislation that seeks to ban citizens from owning any specific firearms or accessories? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

1c -In the 2020 Virginia State Legislative Session, legislators passed Red Flag Gun Confiscation. If elected, will you support our effort to repeal these unconstitutional schemes that violate not only the 2nd Amendment, but also the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments?

Will you support legislation to repeal Red Flag Laws and restore the right of due process? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

2 - In a constitutional republic, one individual should never have open-ended, dictatorial powers. In the current COVID 19 crisis, Governors and elected officials have attempted to enforce illegal and clearly unconstitutional orders.

Will you vote to oppose any and all ‘emergency declarations’ that do not pertain to the constitutional duties of elected officials, including, but not limited to forced facial coverings, lockdowns, business closures, and any and all actions infringing upon the right to assemble, worship, or pursue happiness and prosperity? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

3- The Virginia Health Commissioner has declared that office has the right to force all citizens of the Commonwealth to submit to mandatory vaccination.

Will you support legislation to strip the authority of unelected bureaucrats to order mandatory vaccinations? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

4- School Choice. School officials and politicians have demanded complete and total control over the education of our children. School closures and mandated remote learning have greatly impacted the education our children receive, and parental choice and jobs.

Will you vote for full "school choice" legislation that allows parents to use education vouchers for the public, private, or home-school of their choice? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

5- Electoral Reform and Fair Elections. Virginia must conduct a formal public review of all software and source code used in any voting machine or vote tabulating machine, to ensure that no illegal manipulation of votes occurred in the 2020 election. Moving forward to improve election integrity, we must reinstate laws requiring photo identification of registered voters, signature verification by a notary for mail-in ballots, and delivery of those ballots before election day. Other necessary reforms must include pre-election cleansing of voter rolls using social security numbers, removal of deceased voters and those who moved.

Will you vote to require the above and any other electoral reforms designed to prevent corruption and ensure the integrity of elections? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

6- Right to Work. It is morally wrong for the state to force anyone to involuntarily join any organization or union as a condition of employment.

Will oppose any effort to repeal Right to Work in Virginia? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

7 - Civil Asset Forfeiture. The right to due process of law is enshrined in the United States Constitution. However, currently in Virginia it is being ignored. Virginia has some of the worst civil forfeiture laws in the nation, where your property is seized without a conviction, or even your day in court. Between 2000- 2014 alone, over 34 million dollars were seized from Virginia residents without due process of law. This seizure of a person's property without the right to jury trial is a grave injustice and governmental abuse of power.

Will you support legislation to end civil asset forfeiture? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

8 - Illegal aliens. Sanctuary jurisdictions, government funded medicare, social security, college subsidies, and the issuance of state identification/drivers’ licenses to illegal immigrants are abuses of power and illegal expenditures of taxpayer money. Non-citizens are not entitled to government benefits and services.

Will you support legislation to deny non-citizens access to all government programs, services and taxpayer funded benefits of any kind; to remove non-citizens from existing programs; to outlaw and defund illegal alien sanctuaries; to demand cooperation with ICE for detainment and deportation; and, to ban the issuance of driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

9a - Taxation. Our Founding Fathers rebelled over a 2% tax on tea. Today, Virginians pay some of the highest property taxes in the nation. When added to other State and Federal income taxes, many residents pay more in taxes than they do for housing, food and clothing combined. Onerous taxation, and all manner of government licenses and fees, diminish our property rights and, worse, our freedom. Currently seven states have no personal income tax.

Will you support legislation to eliminate the Virginia Income Tax? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

9b- Occupational Licensing

Will you support legislation to eliminate non-medical occupational licensing, and licensing and fees for the usage of private property and public lands? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

10 - Taxpayer Funding of Abortion. Citizens of Virginia should not be forced to pay for abortions that violate their religious beliefs.

Will you support legislation to defund, any direct or indirect, taxpayer funding of abortions and organizations like Planned Parenthood that conduct abortions? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

11 - Women’s Rights and Privacy Protections. Over the past few years, many states have passed legislation to allow biological men to use women’s restrooms and shower facilities, and unfairly compete in women’s sports. This violates the right to privacy for women and young girls, and in some cases has led to sexual assault.

Will you support legislation that prohibits members of one biological sex from using publicly funded facilities, or participating in publicly funded sports, intended for the other biological sex? YES NO WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION

12- Socialized Medicine. One key component of ObamaCare is the expansion of state Medicaid programs to 138% of the federal poverty level. Over 97% of citizens with ObamaCare coverage are now on expanded Medicaid programs. Not only is this optional program unaffordable for Virginia going forward, implementing it obligates our state to cede control over Medicaid programs to the federal government.

Will you support legislation that would repeal Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion in Virginia? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______

13- Speed Cameras. Policing for profit must never occur. Speed ‘scameras’ are not only ‘policing for profit,’ and rife with corruption, they also violate our 6th Amendment protected right to face our accuser.

Will you support legislation to ban all red light and speed cameras in Virginia? YES____ NO_____ WILL SPONSOR LEGISLATION _______
