As graduate workers at Brown, we are a union.  That means we make decisions about our work democratically.  But lately Brown has been leaving us out of decisions.  Grads on campus have not had a say in the conditions of the return to in-person work.  Many international and out-of-state grads have found that they are no longer being paid by Brown, but through a temp agency called nextSource. These grads are being paid late, underpaid, and required to fill out excessive paperwork for their pay.  And now Brown has ignored our vote to pool our resources through union dues on a monthly basis.  Dues enable the staff, office, and legal resources that support our rights at work.  Whenever Brown makes a decision for us instead of with us, it's an attack on the power we've built together.  We call on Brown to respect our workplace democracy!
