Sen. Johnson continues vaccine doubt, despite doctor criticism

(WLUK) -- Despite criticism from the medical community, Senator Ron Johnson held a roundtable discussion with people who claim to have adverse reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Republican senator's Monday news conference in Milwaukee allowed people from around Wisconsin and the country, tell their stories and express concerns he said have been “repeatedly ignored” by the medical community.

Johnson who has no medical training or expertise, has not received the vaccine and says he doesn't think he has to because he had the virus last year and formed natural antibodies.

Doctors have accused Johnson for months of advancing conspiracy theories, spreading misinformation and putting people's health at risk.

Earlier this month, YouTube removed an interview where Johnson touted the benefits of alternative treatments for COVID-19. YouTube then suspended Johnson for a week, saying his comments violated the company's “medical misinformation policies.”
