XR North Rebellion - Get Involved
Calling all Northern Rebels…

As we emerge from the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, one thing is clearer than ever before.
Our so-called “leaders” in Westminster are entirely unable - and entirely unwilling - to protect us in the face of a real crisis.

Tens of thousands more dead, in large part because of corporate interests and a determination to prioritise the economy over the lives of human beings.

The need to rebel is greater than ever - and our rebellion must grow, spread, deepen and evolve.

This form is for any rebel wanting to be a part of the build up and mass actions we have planned for the first week of this Rebellion.

Following the bank holiday weekend of outreaching actions including banner drops, flyposting and stencilling, we will concentrate our energy in Manchester on the 1st September where we will take and hold space, giving a platform to other movements and organisations, to share their struggles with us, so we can better understand how all our battles are really part of the same fight, and how we can better fight together.

Following a day of collaboration and disruption in Manchester, we will then turn our attention to Drax power station - the coal-burning, tree-burning, single biggest carbon emitter in the U.K. and absolute kings of greenwash - to demonstrate our power, disgust at the this destructive system, and willingness to face the consequences of checking the power of the ruthlessly profiteering elite in our increasingly unequal society.
