On October 30th, the day before Halloween, a parade of giant puppets will descend on the Old Stone House in Park Slope to animate a story of climate change, destruction (fires! storms!), and regrowth. 

350Brooklyn and Sunrise Kids NYC are partnering with the Old Stone House, talented puppet-maker Theresa Linnihan, and Park Slope Parents to bring this Halloween pageant to life, and we need a number of volunteers to help make it a reality! 

The show will serve to underline the urgency of climate action and will be a great opportunity to recruit as well as introduce people to climate activism.

We hope this will be a project that will be as fun and interesting as it is impactful!

Be in the Climate Halloween Puppet Pageant (10/30)
Help animate the tree puppets - no theatrical experience necessary! Briefing at 12pm, pageant at 1pm, outside the Old Stone House. Need to be an adult or a child of 12 yrs+ and able to carry a lightweight but bulky item.
Table at the event on 10/30
We're looking for volunteers to staff a table at the pageant where we can recruit for our organizations, and also engage children in a kid-friendly action (eg writing/drawing postcards to representatives) that we will prepare beforehand. Check all that apply.
Adopt a tree
We'd like to help compensate Theresa for her time as well as chip in for the materials to build the puppets. If you can help financially, please check the box below and we'll be in touch on where to send it. Any amount welcome! In addition we are looking for spaces to store the finished trees for use in future actions.
