This winter season, the NYS Poor People's Campaign is joining with the National Union of the Homeless and other national partners in the Winter Offensive: a series of actions and events confronting the distorted narratives about poverty and homelessness, and demonstrating the revolutionary power of the poor and dispossessed when we unite around demands for economic and social justice for all.

Power, Not Pity!
Change, Not Charity!
Homeless, Not Helpless!

This is a time of year when much of the country engages in a civic religious ritual with special attention given to the poor and homeless. In this season, poor and homeless people are treated as objects of pity and charity, and the events of the Winter Offensive will instead demonstrate that the poor and dispossessed CAN AND ARE organized to be agents of change and subjects of history.
