Access Needs for SURJ NYC Events
Every one of us has access needs, from where and when things happen to the physical conditions of a space we’re in. This survey is us trying to learn as much about those needs as possible, so we can radically welcome everyone who wants to be a part of SURJ.

This survey covers a lot of ground!

Firstly, many of our groups are considering if and how to resume some in-person SURJ NYC events. As we make those decisions, we want to understand what you are comfortable doing this summer and fall, Covid-wise, which is why we’re hoping every SURJ member fills out this survey! We know that things can change week to week; please fill this out based on your current experience as best you can.

But more importantly, we want to take this moment of easing back into some in-person activities to consider how we can improve the accessibility of our events more broadly, both in-person and online. It is a great opportunity to improve our practices rather than just resuming everything exactly the way it used to be by default. We very much appreciate your input, whether you participated in in-person events pre-pandemic or not!

The survey is largely anonymous. However, if you say that you would like us to follow up with you, to discuss your responses more deeply or to get involved with access issues for the Chapter, we will ask for your name and email. You’re also welcome to email us: Grace Patterson at grace.a.patterson@gmail.com and Laura Laderman at lauraladerman@gmail.com.
