Youth! Are you ever confronted with fights, arguments, bullying, and other situations that seem to spin out of control right before your eyes? Join the DC Peace Team (DCPT) for a practice session to carry out peace building responses to conflict, harm, and violence using restorative justice, bystander intervention and de-escalation techniques. We welcome all interested youth to share, learn and practice ways we can make a difference in those difficult moments.

Once registered, you will receive a Youth Parent/Guardian Agreement Form to sign with your caregiver/ parent. Please register by Friday Oct 8 at 5p so we have time to collect these forms.

The Zoom link provided about 24-48 hours before the event.

Please note that this training is intended for persons 11-18 years of age.

Restorative Justice Practices, or "RJPs," are both a philosophy and set of practices that engage the community in building relationships and repairing harm through inclusive dialogue, deep understanding, and shared power.

Bystander intervention is when a person actively steps into a situation to make it better.

De-escalation is a set of techniques to calm a situation that may otherwise lead to harm or violence.
