In a year of students and educators bouncing between in-person, virtual and hybrid learning, the last thing we needed was to have the brakes slammed on learning to accommodate several weeks of standardized testing.

Colorado was one of only two states whose plan to scale down CMAS testing was approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education!

Many Colorado students aren’t getting the education they deserve because our educators and support professionals don’t have what they need. For years, certain politicians and wealthy special interests have balanced the state budget on the backs of our public schools, creating a more than $10 billion deficit in public education funding over the last 10 years.

Day 5: Healthy and Safe Schools

Even though many of us have received our vaccines, many of our school buildings and classrooms still don’t have the infrastructure required to keep students and staff safe.
With the passage of the American Rescue Plan, Colorado’s schools are set to get $1.17 billion in funding to help us get to a place of uninterrupted in-person learning.

Delegate Assembly: Fighting for Exceptional Public Schools

Every public school should be a place with exceptional teaching and learning, no matter what neighborhood it serves. Our state legislature must find the funding necessary so all students get the public schools they deserve.
Send a Postcard
Write to Governor Polis with a message asking for his support of the collective bargaining bill. You can include a brief message about why collective bargaining is important to you as a public school educator.
We’ll take your answers and send a physical postcard on your behalf.
