Film and Discussion; The Doctrine of Discovery
Join us to view this film which explains the history of legal and religious justifications
for theft of land and enslavement of indigenous people, many of which are "still on the books".
If you've already seen the film and want to skip the 12:30 showing. you can join us at 1:30 for a half hour of Art Activism, led by our inspirational theomusicologist Jamel Coy Hudson. At 2:00 there will be a discussion of the film and ongoing injustices suffered by indigenous people, led by members of the Setalcott and Shinnecock tribes on Long Island.
Co-Sponsored by the NYS Poor People's Campaign on Long Island, Building Bridges in Brookhaven,
Multiultural Solidarity Long Island, and the Setalcott Nation
