Speaking Truth to Power Series:

Our Wisconsin Revolution's Speaking Truth to Power Series is a collection of art from local artists that represents Our Need for a Revolution. An economic revolution because of the twin forces of globalization and automation; a social revolution because the country’s historically dominant group is on its way to becoming a political minority; and an ecological revolution because the life of this planet and humanity is under threat from climate change.

This is a part of OWR's Revolutionized messaging. We are implementing a multi-platform communication strategy emphasizing the “Revolutionizing Wisconsin” theme and transitioning away from lengthy policy position statements that are academic in tone. Instead OWR is empowering and elevating the voices of local artists. Our first event in the series is a spoken word show called Words From Home. It is about the stories of harm caused by gentrification and poverty in the inner city. Even though the first event in our Speaking Truth to Power series is a spoken word show, this series is looking to include all art forms. Whether it be music, dance, film, paintings, graffiti etc... if it is about revolution we are interested.
