We, the undersigned members of the Jefferson County Education Association call on central administration to provide more support to schools and more models for what learning schedules and processes could look like while educating in a crisis environment.

We need more leadership, clear communication and modeling from the top.
The failure to come to an MOU agreement on the hybrid learning model responsibilities of educators highlights the problem of lack of communication, detail, and thoughtful planning in the Restart Plan.

The current lack of clarity puts too much of the design and decision making of what a safe return to school looks like on individual schools. Instead, we need the Executive Leadership Team to provide solid direction, sound advice, clear communication and most importantly true leadership to the employees of Jeffco Public Schools.

We are all working hard to think creatively and find solutions to offering our students and educators the best possible environment as we navigate our new world – the current lack of communication and direction is adding unneeded anxiety and confusion.

We are rapidly running out of time and need leadership NOW.
