Meet Gordon
Gordon is a career prosecutor, a recognized leader on data-driven criminal justice policy, and the current District Attorney for the 8th Judicial District. Gordon took office in January 2021 and has spent his first term focused on pragmatic reform, community safety, and increased outreach and transparency.

Prior to being elected, Gordon spent his career in public service, serving as a Deputy District Attorney here in Larimer County, as well as in other districts around Colorado. He has tried and won dozens of criminal jury trials, ranging from simple DUIs to violent felonies and homicide, and understands what it takes to believe, support, and protect victims.
Gordon’s strong sense of justice drives his vision to create a safe and equitable community. His pragmatic approach to prosecution dictates that criminal justice is not at odds with social justice and community safety is not at odds with compassion or rehabilitation.
During his first term, Gordon has worked collaboratively across the many sectors of our community and justice system to find innovative solutions that have become statewide and national models for effective criminal justice systems.

He has been a vocal leader, both locally and at the State Capitol, in fighting for priorities that will improve our safety and quality of life.

Before serving as a district attorney, Gordon received his juris doctor at the University of Colorado and received his bachelor's degree at Cornell University. Gordon lives in Fort Collins and enjoys many of the great opportunities Larimer County affords: running along the Poudre Trail, biking throughout our community and catching a Rams game with friends and family.
