As part of the climate strikes going throughout the world today, around 600 Rutgers students, faculty and friends attended a rally on the Voorhees Mall and then marched to Rep. Frank Pallone's Church St. office Friday afternoon in New Brunswick.

Organizers of the climate strike demand that Rutgers develop a climate action plan immediately, divest from fossil fuels by 2024, commit to net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 and establish an Office of Sustainability by the end of 2020. In addition they want Congressman Frank Pallone to support a strong Green New Deal while holding fair hearings on how to implement a Green New Deal and to return any campaign contributions from fossil fuel industries.
