Reader Opinion: Quinn for the win

ReaderOpinionBlue.JPG

What do seasoned Republican leaders Gov. Arne Carlson, Sen. David Durenberger, Tom Horner, and Harry Welty have in common? They are all “RepubliQuinns” supporting Quinn Nystrom, the Democratic candidate for the 8th Congressional District. The Timberjay newspaper of northern St. Louis County, Minnesota also endorsed Quinn, citing her opponent’s “hollow rhetoric” on health care.

Quinn has the talent, abilities and proven know-how to work with people of all political backgrounds to get things done, especially around making health care affordable. Quinn has taken no PAC money, but still outraised her opponent in campaign contributions last quarter.

Quinn is a fourth generation Crow Wing County resident. She was the youngest person, and only woman at the time, to serve on the Baxter City Council. It’s refreshing to have a talented, determined, young female on the ballot with a proven track record of delivering for her constituents.

Vote “Quinn for the win.”
