Host an August 22 "#SaveThePostOffice from Trump" action!

On Saturday, August 22, at 11 a.m. (local time), we will show up at local post offices across the country to save the post office from Donald Trump and declare that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy must resign. Help people in your community take action with you by signing up to host an event, which will be added to the event map. Once you create and confirm your event, our team will help you along the way.

Already an event near you? No problem! We encourage MORE, not LARGER, events for the "#SaveThePostOffice from Trump" Day of Action. So feel free to join the existing event or add another event to the map! Saving the post office impacts every community; with more than 31,000 post offices across the country, there is no shortage of locations to show where Donald Trump's assault on the post office hits home. Smaller events also allows as many people as possible to participate, maintaining greater social distance, amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

We are committed to maintaining public health measures to practice safe protesting during the pandemic. All event participants will be expected to wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and follow all local safety guidelines. As an individual host, you are responsible for compliance with your own local laws and event requirements (including orders limiting the sizes of events)All hosts are strongly encouraged to limit event size to 50 or fewer participants and are expected to set limits in line with local public health guidelines.

Hosts are encouraged to schedule events for 11 a.m., but other times on Saturday are permissible. Dates other than Saturday will not be allowed. Post offices are the preferred location, but other outdoor, public venues, such as outside U.S. senators' district offices, will work too.

If in doubt, create your event and then ask for support from the contacts you will be provided!

Additionally, a core principle shared by supporting organizations is a commitment to nonviolent, peaceful actions. All actions that are sponsored or organized on this page are intended to be nonviolent and peaceful. We expect all participants to act lawfully at all times and to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
