Democratic U.S. Sens. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota will co-host virtual campaign events Monday for Joe Biden.

The events are aimed at voters in Kenosha and Superior and are part of what the Biden presidential campaign is calling its "Made in America" tour.

Klobuchar ran in the Democratic presidential primaries, while Baldwin has been discussed as a potential vice presidential running mate for Biden.

The senators are expected to discuss Biden's plan to rebuild manufacturing, a key issue in Midwest battleground states in the race between Biden and President Donald Trump.

In a statement, Baldwin said: "Instead of fighting for our Wisconsin manufacturers, Trump gave massive tax cuts to billionaires and even gave incentives for corporations to ship jobs overseas. Joe Biden has a plan to invest in American workers and create good-paying jobs right here in Wisconsin — and I look forward to carrying that message across the Badger State.”

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign is trying to score political points on Biden's decision not to travel to Milwaukee for next week's Democratic National Convention. There will be no speakers in Milwaukee because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mike Pence plans to visit Wisconsin Aug. 19, the night when Biden's vice presidential pick will formally accept her nomination.
