National Nurses Week

National Nurses week is May 6–12!

Nurses and health professionals have devoted themselves to a grueling profession with compassion and perseverance. But despite backbreaking understaffing, terrifying workplace safety issues and dizzying schedules, nurses and other healthcare professionals remain at the bedside of patients, providing care for our communities when they need it most. During National Nurses Week, celebrated each May, we honor nurses and the work they do and have launched the Code Red: Understaffing = Patient Care Crisis campaign to improve their working conditions.

Our Code Red campaign is a response by the AFT and our healthcare affiliates around the country who are leading efforts to secure safe patient limits and other crucial protections to improve the quality of care our patients receive.
