ST. PAUL — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will announce next steps for COVID-19 restrictions on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

That announcement was going to be Monday, but it was delayed.

The governor will decide whether or not to continue the restrictions for certain businesses, group gatherings and youth sports. As it stands, in-house dining is not allowed at restaurants and Minnesotans are expected to keep all gatherings to 1 household.

Those restrictions are set to expire Friday, Dec. 18.

The delay comes as the state's first COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Minnesota and nationwide.
