* 1. Low Carbon Fuel Standard HB 1091

This bill would reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation fuels, the state’s largest source of emissions, to 20% below 2017 levels by 2035 and would create jobs and economic growth by stimulating investment in clean fuel technologies. Representative Joe Fitzgibbon (34th LD) has been trying to get this bill passed for years. Let’s make it happen this year!

Scheduled for hearing in the House Environment & Energy Committee on Thursday, January 14, 1:30 PM. (Note: This action won’t be available after the hearing starts.)

* 2. Law enforcement data collection HB 1092

We support the WA for Black Lives demands that Washington state pass comprehensive reform to demilitarize the police and curb police violence.

HB 1092 would require law enforcement agencies to report certain information when an incident occurs involving a fatality, great bodily harm, or substantial bodily harm in connection with the use of force by a law enforcement officer, or when an officer uses or deploys certain types of weapons or other force.

Scheduled for public hearing in the House Committee on Public Safety on Thursday, January 14, 1:30 PM (Note: This action won’t be available after the hearing starts.)

Question Title

* 3. Reducing emissions from Hydrofluorocarbons HB 1050

Hydrofluorocarbons are a super-greenhouse gas, thousands of times more potent than CO2. This bill continues the work of 2019 legislation, and improves on federal law, by managing refrigerants and introducing end-of-life policies for existing equipment. It also improves state procurement policies, adjusts building codes and sets the stage to advance low Global Warming Potential (GWP) options through utility incentive programs. Not bad!

Scheduled for public hearing in the House Committee on Environment & Energy on Friday, January 15, 10:00 AM. (Note: This action won’t be available after the hearing starts.)

Follow the link below, complete the fields and select “Pro” in the position button. Your information will be made available to legislative committee members and staff of the committee, and will be included in the legislative record for bill and meeting archival purposes.
