VIRTUAL CLAMBAKE. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who finished third in the New Hampshire first-in-the-nation presidential primary in February, on Friday will keynote the Rockingham County Democrats’ annual clambake fundraiser, which will be a virtual event.
The clambake will be held on Friday, Aug. 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“Senator Klobuchar is a leader who stands up for working families and works to deliver results on the biggest issues facing our communities,” said Rockingham County Democrats chair Larry Drake. “We are looking forward to hearing from the senator about how we can all work together to help elect Joe Biden as the next president of the United States and elect Democrats down the ballot in November.”
Klobuchar left the presidential race a few weeks after the primary and is a key surrogate for Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
Members of the New Hampshire congressional delegation, NHDP Chair Raymond Buckley, state Sen. Martha Fuller Clark, New Hampshire House Speaker Steve Shurtleff and other party leaders have been invited to speak.
Jackie Wood of Auburn will be awarded the Norman and Anita Freedman Award recognizing "her hard work over the years for the Democratic Party, particularly during the 2020 campaign with its unique challenges and her recent work on the first Rockingham County Democratic Committee Online Auction," the Rockingham County Democratic Committee said.
