COLUMBUS, Ohio – Republicans and Democrats on the Ohio Redistricting Commission have until Wednesday to possibly agree on new state legislative maps. But with days to spare, they still can’t agree on a meeting schedule dictating when the public will get its first look at a possible map, among other internal procedural commission rules.

During a public commission meeting on Thursday in Lima, House Speaker Bob Cupp said he hopes rules will be introduced “in the next few days.” The commission held its first organizational meeting nearly three weeks ago, but the two sides are still negotiating on the meeting schedule, including when maps might first be introduced.
