RSVP to AFT 1493 Teach-In: Equal Pay for Equal Work
Join us on Thursday, September 10, 2020 as we build awareness and activism around labor and social justice issues, empower our students, staff and faculty members to organize for change, and demand justice for our part-time faculty who deserve equal pay for equal work!

Students:  Support friends, classmates and instructors as they speak out about injustice.  Learn how other young workers are organizing for change.

Faculty:  Bring your class in lieu of your regular class meeting OR offer credit for attendance (relate the teach-in to your class content). Take advantage of this opportunity to infuse your curriculum with a social justice issue that affects students and faculty at SMCCCD and support your part-time colleagues in their struggle to earn a living wage and equitable working conditions.

Schedule:
12:00-12:30 p.m. Plenary
12:35-2:00 p.m. Concurrent Sessions--choose one (Session 1: Part-Time Pay Parity as a Systematic Social Inequity; Session 2: Organizing in Our Workplaces and Communities NOW; Session 3: Racial & Gender Justice in the Union, Our Campuses & Our Communities)
2:00-3:00 p.m. Safe space for adjuncts only--story sharing and lived experiences
