Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with us - we are determined to maintain the spirit and tradition of Solidarity Harvest while practicing safety during the second Solidarity Harvest of the pandemic! We're keeping a lot of the safety protocols and processes we adopted last year, which worked really well.
IMPORTANT COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS: We are limiting the number and personal interaction of volunteers. Produce weighing and basket assembly will occur in small groups of volunteers at socially distant, outdoor work stations in our parking lot. We require all volunteers to be fully vaccinated (if eligible) AND willing to wear a mouth/nose covering when near other people. This is for everyone's safety, especially children, elders and the immuno-compromised and is not up for debate. All volunteers will be required to sign in and out for contact tracing purposes.
Signing up for specific shift times and maintaining good communication with our staff will allow us all to remain healthy and ensure that Solidarity Harvest is a success!
Feel free to ask our staff any questions. Email us at
FAM@foodandmedicine.org. For those who haven't been here before, the Solidarity Center is located at 20 Ivers Street, Brewer. One block in off South Main in Brewer, behind St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Parking is limited due to the outdoor workstations. There will be some parking on the far end of the lot, nose in on an angle to fit more cars. If no room, drive through, down Harris Street (connected to our parking lot) and go back to Ivers and park in the church parking lot.
