The Poor People’s Campaign; Calling for Light, Love and Leadership

In light of the events of January 6th, the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival produced a video showing the split realities of how non-violent protest has been met versus the racist double standard we saw that day. Please check out the video and share widely.

On MLK Moral Monday, the Poor People’s Campaign honored Dr. King’s life, as well as the lives of all of those who have lived and died for justice, with an inspiring National Interfaith Service of Light, Love and Leadership – building the beloved community with LOVE tied to justice, LIGHT grounded in truth and LEADERSHIP rooted in a Moral Agenda for the nation. Then, on January 21, Poor People’s Campaign Co-Chair Bishop William J. Barber, II took the national spotlight as he delivered a compelling homily at the National Inaugural Prayer Service for incoming President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Click here to watch videos of both events.

As Biden and Harris assume office, and as members of the U.S. Congress take their place as legislative leaders, the Poor People’s Campaign is calling on them to embrace the 14 Policy Priorities to Heal the Nation: A Moral and Economic Agenda for the first 100 days. The only way forward for our nation is if love is tied to justice, light is grounded in truth and we have leadership rooted in a moral agenda for the nation. Add your name here.
