COVID-19 may keep us apart physically this year, but it cannot break our union bond or our commitment to leave an outdoor legacy for future generations. We are Union Strong.

Over the years, our conservation dinners in Texas have raised funds and recruited volunteers to complete Work Boots on the Ground (WBG) projects with a lasting impact.

Visitors to the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge have more hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing opportunities thanks to a 500-ft. boardwalk built by union volunteers. Campers and beach goers at Goose Island State Park once again have access to freshwater thanks to the USA volunteers who replaced the plumbing at 45 beachside stations damaged by Hurricane Harvey. At the USA's Houston Get Youth Outdoors Day in 2019, 55 youth and 25 adults gained an understanding of wildlife refuges as well as hunting and fishing.

And that's just skimming the surface! To ensure we can pick up our conservation efforts in Texas full force once we get past this crisis, we invite you to join us for our first Virtual Texas AFL-CIO Conservation Dinner.

The event will be lived streamed, with a few familiar faces from the USA, at 6PM CST on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.
