On Thursday, March 11th, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm CT, please join Restore the Fourth Minnesota for a panel discussion on what it means to protest in the age of mass surveillance. We will be examining different kinds of surveillance and military technology and how they are deployed against protesters, and what impacts this technology has on the civil liberties of protesters.

Moderator: Jo Facklam: Program Associate for Restore the Fourth, protester and agitator based in Minneapolis

Panelists:

  • Bruce Schneier Cryptographer and Fellow and lecturer at Harvard's Kennedy School, a board member of EFF, and the Chief of Security Architecture at Inrupt, Inc.

  • Mahesha P. Subbaraman Appellate attorney at Subbaraman PLLC and chair of the Restore the Fourth Litigation Working Group

  • Freddy Martinez is a Policy Analyst at Open The Government, a non-partisan coalition, where he focuses on policing, surveillance and public access to information

  • Isabella Nascimento Staff Attorney for the ACLU of Minnesota
